LUBRICATION
Prolube® Lubricants, Greases and Oils are a premium quality products that are bio-based, biodegradable, environmentally friendly and renewable. They are produced from highest quality primarily renewable rapeseed oil. Using our products, translates into care for the environment. Our products meet the stringent requirements of the tests OECD 301 biodegradation tests, do not bioaccumulate, are not toxic to plants and are neutral in the water. There are several levels of biodegradation , as determined by ASTM with "ultimate biodegradability" as well as the highest standard of evaluation ranking (2.1 ASTM D - 5864 ), requiring that at least 60 % of the product must biodegrade within 28 days.
Our products meets USDA guidelines and provides protection against fretting wear, oxidation, wear, corrosion and rust along with compatibility with commonly used elastomeric components, plastics and metals. ProLube uses base oils made from crop oils like rapeseed oils that offer higher oxidation stability, low temperature flowability, delivers High Film Strength and offers superior lubricity and high-temperature stability.
Our products are made from base oils that offer higher flash point than petroleum oils for increased safety and meet the highest requirements of enterprises - ISO 14001.
Combined with extreme pressure additives to minimize friction, wear and offer extreme performance in all demanding applications. Our biodegradable greases and oils are premium quality products that are biobased, water washout resistant and are much more efficient than conventional greases and oils.
ProLube products are designed for highest severity applications as well as being suitable for environmentally sensitive areas.
Our products meets USDA guidelines - USDA BioPreferred ® Program
In addition to the sustainability advantages of ProLube ® products versus their conventional counterparts, our products also meet the latest requirements of the new USDA BioPreferred® labeling programs that states that a product must meet a minimum required level of bio-content to display the mark.
Our Bio-based products are made of agricultural ingredients – renewable crop oils like rapeseed oils. - they are biodegradable, environmentally friendly and renewable.
USDA BioPreferred Program: The purpose of the USDA BioPreferred® program is to promote the use of biobased products. The increased purchase of biobased products will promote economic development, provide new markets for agricultural-based products, reduce petroleum consumption, increase the use of renewable resources, better manage the carbon cycle and reduce adverse environmental and health impacts.
Chain and Cable Lubricant Categories: USDA designates categories for biobased products and establishes a minimum biobased content standard for each category. Products designed to provide lubrication for roller chains, sprockets, and wire cables are classified as chain and cable lubricants and must contain a minimum biobased content of 77% by weight.
USDA Certified Biobased Product: These are products that contain in whole or in part materials, chemicals and energy derived from renewable living biological matter, also known as biomaterials, that meet the criteria for inclusion in the USDA BioPreferred program. Only certified biobased products can have a USDA Certified Biobased Product label.
Biobased Content: This is the amount of biobased carbon in the material or product expressed as a percentage of weight (mass) of the total organic carbon in the material or product. The biobased content is measured using ASTM Method D6866, Standard Test Methods for Determining the Biobased Content of Natural Range Materials Using Radiocarbon and Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry Analysis.
